Now that New York Fashion Week (NYFW) is over, I am having withdrawals from all the runway and street style looks that have graced the internet and fashion industry this past week! Can we please petition for NYFW to become New York Fashion Month so I don’t have to miss it every season? Luckily, my friend and fellow blogger, Natalie Szczechowski from @herpersonatalie, and I will recreate three looks from three designer runway collections. We’ll also share some tips and tricks to incorporate high fashion style into your everyday wardrobe. Let’s begin:
1. Diane Von Furstenberg’s Spring 2017 Collection
DVF is known for being the fashion icon who introduced the “wrap dress” in the 1970’s, and she is still continuing to feature new ways on how to dress the all-around strong, classy woman. This collection tells me that this coming spring is all about color, mixing prints, and experimenting with asymmetric hems and necklines. I was in awe of this particular look from the collection because the pieces can be incorporated into business/office wear. For my outfit, I found a similar white top that had long bell sleeves and a neckline that subtly shows off the décolletage. Instead of the green skirt, I paired my leather pink pencil skirt instead for a pop of color. Although it’s not pictured, the skirt also had a slit on the back. I tied my waist with a neutral colored belt and finished it off with strappy heels. I love how this look is contemporary, vibrant, and sophisticated. Take a look at DVF’s collection here.

2. Warm’s Spring 2017 Collection
Warm is popularly known for their casual, easy breezy clothing, and this collection really takes me to a tropical paradise! This collection showcases loose fitting silhouettes, silky tropical prints, and comfortable separates. The look I’ve chosen from the collection is so comfortable and lively, I knew I had to recreate it from my own wardrobe! My silky, floral tank top is actually a hand-me-down from my mother’s closet. Since my tank top didn’t have a tie in the front, I accessorized with a white choker necklace. I tucked my top into a pair of wide pleated, striped shorts- so comfy! To finish off the look, I wore my Birkenstock-style sandals. Overall, Warm made me fall in love with the combination of stripes and floral prints! The collection taught me that upscale clothing can also be comfy and casual. Take a look at Warm’s collection here.

3. Tommy Hilfiger x Gigi Hadid’s Fall 2016 Collection
Tommy Hilfiger is one of the most popular American designers of all time. So, it was no surprise that his collection with Gigi Hadid would be the most talked about collection of the season. The collection brings preppiness, edginess, and sportiness to American style fashion. My recreated look is primarily inspired from the pieces of this particular outfit, but definitely draws inspiration from the collection as a whole. I wore a chunky blue sweater over a white, mini trumpet skirt. Similarly to Hilfiger’s outfit, I love how the skirt peeks out from the sweater. Instead of a bandana, I wore a thick plaid scarf to incorporate more patriotic colors that were shown from the collection. For shoes, I wore black booties, which were also featured on the runway. My recreated look is complete! I have always been a fan of Tommy Hilfiger’s collections, and this one is no exception. You’ll definitely see me wearing this outfit more when it gets colder in Texas! I hope you enjoyed my three recreated looks from this season’s NYFW! It’s amazing how pieces from your own closet can be styled similarly to high fashion looks. I hope this post inspires you to recreate your own looks from NYFW! Be sure to check out the second portion of this collaboration here. You definitely don’t want to miss Natalie’s recreated looks! P.S. Scarf is from Charlotte Russe a few years back, but I’m sure you can purchase one similar! 😉
