As New York Fashion Week ends, I can’t help but think about how much this week has flown by in a blink of an eye! I have never been more excited, lost, crazy, sleep-deprived, inspired, and deeply grateful for a trip before. I still can’t believe I attended my very first New York Fashion Week. It literally took a village for me to pull this trip together. From the crazy weather happening in Houston a week beforehand to all the brands willing to provide me the best clothing, hair, and accessories to wear, I couldn’t be more thankful for working with people who have stuck through this phenomenal experience with me. Special shout out to Zoe for assisting and photographing my experience last minute! I’ve been posting about my adventures in NYFW on myInstagram, but now, I’m finally happy to finally share with you all the glitz and glamour from the outfits I’ve worn while attending the fashion shows. This post is super lengthy– so be prepared to get the full details!

When I tell you that I had no time to sit and relax during this trip, I was literally on my way to my first fashion show right when I arrived from Penn Station! I curled my hair before my flight, painted my nails before I boarded my plane, and changed into my first outfit when I landed in Newark. The “New York minute” felt like I was flying from place to place! With this outfit, I kept it simple as I wore a striking red dress with side pleating for an effortless one-piece look. I paired it with silver/black accessories and some fun tassel earrings to match the dress.I started my first NYFW attending the All Comes From Nothing show! I loved their unisex silhouettes, soft minimalistic shades, and the slouchy fit coats and cardigans showcased in the show. I loved how the designer, Eva Yiwel Xu, focused the collection on women clothing with inspiration from Chinese fashion trends. The show was so innovative, and I hope that I would one day see her collection at the Skylight Clarkson! Thanks to nolchashows.com, amp3pr.com, and my roomie for inviting me!

During the evening, I decided to wear a more funky outfit filled with color and embellishments! I got so many compliments with my ruffled top from Kendall + Kylie, and the textured striped skirt made the ensemble such a showstopper! I love how the pieces together looked feminine but edgy. This was easily one of my top favorite outfits during the trip. It was the perfect outfit to finish Day 1!I was able to attend the Cindy Monteiro Show Friday evening, and I could not believe how much I enjoyed her collection! The pieces were mainly in black, cream, white, and soft grey colors with lots of asymmetric detail! I observed lots of bell sleeves, padded shoulders, cutouts, and fringe. Additionally, I also noticed how she brought a pop of color to her pieces with colored lining and hemming. Her show made me look forward to the upcoming Spring trends.

For Day 2, I decided to wear Veronica Cheri all day! I had the pleasure of meeting the Houston designer in collaboration with choosing an outfit to wear. Her perspective of fashion is so inspiring, especially how she focuses on functional clothing for women on-the-go. I really love how she values creating designs that showcase confidence and beauty. If only you guys could touch the fabric of her clothing- it’s soft and extremely high quality! I decided to wear a black lace long sleeved blouse with a high-waisted red leather skirt. It was super comfortable and truly embodied the classiness of Manhattan’s city life. Please check out her Instagram and stay tuned for her new site launch in October!During the day, I attended the Runa Ray Show. Her collection was so thought provoking to me! Her pieces incorporated pressed leaves and handmade dye, which presented such an ethereal and nature-esque collection. From the fossilized texture, flowy chiffon fabric, and floral/plant prints, the attention to detail was truly astounding. It was easily one of the most memorable shows I’ve attended!

I had the pleasure of watching the Negris Lebrum Show during the evening. I really loved the Creole-inspired fashion and wearable pieces from his collection. The pops of yellow and green were cohesive colors to his pencil length dresses and high waisted bottoms. What made me truly value his show was that he presented it in honor of those who were affected from Hurricane Harvey. It was such a wonderful way to end the night!

Another day to celebrate fashion! I always envisioned wearing a flowy asymmetrical dress during NYFW, so when I realized I had kept this unworn dress in my closet to save for a special occasion, I made sure that I brought that dream to life! The shiny, soft fabric and bright color blocks look so chic while strolling around the Skylight Clarkson. There’s no denying that this outfit was captured by a few street photographers around the block. This outfit was worn when I attended the Dan Liu and Leannne Marshall shows. Although I was a “late worm” for arriving, I really enjoyed looking at both of the shows via the monitor outside. Dan Liu and Leanne Marshall were similar in color aspect- lots of bright colors in various shades of pastel. Dan Liu definitely captured a sweet, girly style of the upcoming Spring/Summer season while Leanne Marshall captured a more romantic, elegant style. I would easily wear any of the pieces they showcased in the runway.

During the afternoon, I headed straight to the Pier 59 Studios with this pink ruffled dress. I could not believe how comfortable and effortless this dress felt! I gasped at the beautiful fabric and details- the hemming made the design look so airy with the ruffled details cascading down the dress. It looked so elegant and flattering-highly recommend this dress if you are petite! With the all silver accessories, it was truly the most elegant outfit I’ve worn during my trip. When I attended the Lisa N. Hoang Show, I couldn’t have picked a more perfect outfit. My dress is very similar in style with her collection- super feminine with romantic embellishments and pastel colors. I was not familiar with her designs prior to attending, but I was so floored with the dresses she showcased in the runway! She definitely had a similar style with Leanne Marshall as far as designing flowy, lightweight gowns. Definitely keep your eyes on Lisa N. Hoang, everyone! Her collection was one of my favorites!

Oohlala, Day 3 ended with a more flirty outfit! If you adore lace like me, you would be in love with this ensemble. I picked out black and white pieces that had floral lace prints and silver accessories. I think my favorite part of this outfit was wearing my red purse as an accent color! The red nails and lipstick color were a perfect match. This look definitely brought a flair of drama with my NYFW wardrobe. Plus, wearing this outfit for a girl’s night out after the show was a huge plus! When I attended the Jarel Zhang show, I was fascinated with the designs he had chosen. His entire collection showcased rainwear with colorful boxy rain coats/jackets. What made his designs give such an evoking emotions with the audience was the oversized sleeves and distressed converse-style shoes. It was definitely an interesting collection from all the other shows I’ve seen. Still, I appreciated the way he challenges spring and summer fashion to be outside the box.

Day 4

It was my last day in the city and I had the pleasure of sightseeing around New York! On this day, I had the opportunity with an old friend to have a personal tour around Kate Spade and view their latest collection. You guys know how much I am obsessed with floral prints, so their new collection was right up my ally. I also met with fellow blogger, Allie Provost, who helped me out with styling this outfit! I absolutely loved this chiffon dress with its floral embellishments and lightweight fabric. It felt so sophisticated! It was such a lovely experience reuniting with old friends and forming new ones. All in all, it was the perfect way to end my New York Fashion Week trip.
