Happy Sunday!
My trip in Bicol was heartwarming. Every time I visit, I learn so much about my family and myself that I leave the Philippines in hopes of revisiting again. Despite the illness I encountered from my last post, I was still able to explore the province of where my parents grew up. If you ever decided to visit Bicol, one of the highlights from my trip was staying at The Oriental Hotel Legazpi.
Oriental is a great name and description for this hotel. The ambiance really gives off a luxurious style that enlightens guests about Asian culture. However, I was also impressed with how they fused contemporary design into their hotel rooms, lobby, and restaurant. As a tourist, I felt right at home in the Philippines.
The services in this hotel was absolutely amazing. The breakfast buffet had so much food, dessert, and beverage options that I ended up eating a three-plate feast! I loved the glossy glass dishware used for the food and the cascading iridescent shells placed above the dining area. Plus, the waiters were very friendly and helpful when I was concerned about my dietary restrictions. The only recommendation I would suggest is that there would be more vegetarian/vegan options since most of the signature meals did have meat. However, I was satisfied with the salad and tropical fresh fruit provided in the breakfast buffet. During the week, there would be dinner buffets and live music as well. What makes this hotel so unique is that people who aren’t hotel guests can even make dining reservations , too.
If you ever wanted to cool off from the heat, dipping in the infinity pool is a great option! The infinity pool has amazing views of the whole city that are unique and incomparable to any other view of the province. When I overlooked the city and Mayon Volcano from the pool, I was mesmerized by the beauty and nature of Bicol. Honestly, the views surrounding the hotel made me want to live there forever.
Lastly, if you decide to stay here, I would suggest looking at the deals and promotions they offer. The price for one night can range from 4,000-5,000 pesos ($86-$107 USD), which is a similar price range in comparison with luxury hotels in America. For those of you who are on a tight budget, I would recommend saving money to stay at this hotel for at least one night before your trip ends. I truly felt like the hotel experience was worth every penny and the perfect way to end my stay in Bicol. If you wanted to check out their site, click here. The decor alone is super cute! While I’d be happy just having the opportunity to visit the location, the hotel would seal the deal for me!
