A Mini Texas Roadtrip to Chappell Hill: Travel Guide

The true essence of Texas can be found in Chappell Hill, a small rural country town that is an hour drive from Houston. The rolling plains and historically preserved homes can charm a passerby from any given route they take. Even with a total population of approximately 600 people, it is widely known in the state for having the best bluebonnet fields during the spring season. In fact, Texas’s Bluebonnet Festival is annually held in Chappell Hill, which attracts people from around the state to take the iconic photos of the flower fields by the red barn. The effortless spring blooms has made the small town a popular tourist destination.When I traveled with my friend, I immediately embraced the small country lifestyle: no traffic, friendly town people everywhere you meet, and scenic car window views! The charm of it made me love everything about Chappell Hill enough to showcase some of the best spots to see in this unique town.

The town has an amazing track record for blooming the most bluebonnet fields in Texas! Each year, you can expect to see some amazing flower fields along the roads as well. Aside from the spring blooms, many visitors come during the month of March to attend the Bluebonnet Festival and experience the fun outdoor carnival and family games. You can attend for free and be amazed of the amazing food while you’re there.

Want to try an amazing beverage while in Chappell Hill? Check out the Chappell Hill Lavender Farm! I adored the mini lavender fields and scenic gazebo area with a lakeside view. You can definitely expect to see a lot of people taking photos at this place! However, make sure to try their lavender lemonade inside their lavender store for only $1.50. The drink is homemade and made fresh daily from the owners! Not only is the beverage refreshing on a sunny day, but you’ll fall in love with the lavender products they have available too.

Bevers Kitchen is the place to be if you’re in the mood for country style food! The restaurant has a small wooden cottage house exterior that feels very welcoming right when you enter inside. The service here is raved on social media for their friendly service, and it’s known to be the perfect Sunday brunch spot in town. Everything is homemade and the dishes are generous in food portion, so I highly recommend checking this restaurant out.

Who knew that the best bluebonnet fields in Texas were located right by a church? The public can visit the bluebonnet fields and is free for everyone to enter. The reason why I adore this location is because the parking lot is really close by the fields, so you can easily take photos and leave as opposed to walking around wild plants along the side of the road.
