Goodbye 2016 and hello to 2017! It’s amazing how one year of blogging has given me such joy. Never would I thought in my wildest dreams that I would find a creative outlet that would lead me to meeting talented people, having partnerships with amazing brands, and having friendships from all over the world! You can definitely count on me continuing this blog and sharing all my new adventures and fashion posts for 2017. So, for anyone who has supported me on this year-long journey of mine, I can’t put into words how much I am thankful for you.
One of my favorite photographers to work with in Houston is, no surprise, Irene Santos! I am so happy to have worked with her on this amazing collaboration. When Irene and I were walking around downtown for this shoot, we actually ended up sneaking inside a five-star hotel to take photos with this gorgeous winding staircase! Needless to say, our rebellious behavior made for one incredible photoshoot! For the last part of our Holiday Outfit Series collaboration (here is Part I and here is Part II), I wanted to style a sparkly chic New Years Eve outfit with a casual, edgy element to it. I loved the idea of dressing in sequins, but I wanted to create an outfit that looked amazing for both dressy and casual New Years parties. So whether you’re watching the ball drop on TV with loved ones or you’re attending a NYE night party with your friends, I hope you enjoy reading more about how I styled this dazzling evening outfit.
For my New Year’s Eve outfit, I wanted a simple outfit that was comfy and party glam all rolled into one! When I purchased this sequin sweater dress years ago, I knew it would be the perfect dress for any holiday occasion. The sequin detailing is absolutely stunning as it embellishes along the neckline and gradually fades out down to the dress. With the V-neckline and loose fit of the dress, most body types would find it flattering since it accentuates the collar bone area of the body as the dress fabric drapes down. Plus, the taupe color of the dress is a different color shade from most NYE party outfits. Paired with the silver sequins, this sweater dress is looks and feels timeless. Although this dress is not available in stores, I think this is a great dress to DIY with a sweater dress I recently found here.
Because most countries celebrate NYE during the winter, I decided to pair this outfit with some sheer black tights. Depending on where you live, you can always change your tights according to the weather, but I find that sheer ones are perfect to wear in Texas. I previously talked about tights in Part II, but I find that they are the perfect thing to wear when you are in a semi-cold climate. Sheer tights are so flattering on legs because of the fibers used to make the stretchy fabric, and they perfectly pair with any holiday dresses and skirts. If you are in a cold climate, I recommend wearing opaque black tights with over-the-knee socks to keep you warm! If you are considering in purchasing chic tights, I am a fan of Simply Vera tights that are on clearance here.
Since the top portion of my outfit is really glamorous and sophisticated, I made the style more low-key edgy by pairing it with black combat boots. Black combat boots are such an unexpected pairing when it comes to NYE outfits because most people find it informal for parties. However, if you find combat boots that has a classic shoe design, I think you can pull off wearing them for the holidays! Black combat boots are incredibly comfortable and keep you warm, unlike strappy heels, and it brings out a street-style edge to your look. I found similar black combat boots at an affordable price here.
With this NYE look, I hope you find inspiration in styling your own outfit for the new year! 2017 only begins once, so make the best of the upcoming year and start it off in style. Thank you so much for reading my last part of my holiday outfit series in collaboration with Irene Santos! You can check out more of her work by following her on Instagram here. Please leave me a comment down below on which holiday outfit you enjoyed in this series, and expect to see more style posts in the upcoming year!

THIS was my favorite holiday outfit. I love that it has wintery edge to it due to being a sweater dress. I mean, for a lot of us it is cold on NYE! Great shout on customizing in order to get this look too, I love a bit of DIY and sequins add flair to any outfit! xx
