“Packing for a week-long road trip is a breeze,” said no one ever. As if packing for a trip isn’t difficult enough, my idea of the “perfect Fall road trip” lead me to having sleepless nights in preparation for what to wear. Because of the vast climate changes around Arizona during Fall season, it is important to bring clothing essentials that can easily be worn or layered. This trip inspired me to share some great road trip fashion items that are perfect for any Fall outdoor adventure.
ARIZONA ROAD TRIP STYLE IDEAS
FLOWY SMOCK DRESSES
Smock dresses are an easy clothing item to look effortlessly chic. The flowy shape of the dress is perfect for sitting during long periods of time inside a car, plus, it is great putting over athletic outfits for those “pretty” travel photos. In the city, I would simply style my smock dress with a pair of strappy sandals. In no time, I’m ready to go out the door! If you want a no-fuss travel outfit, a flowy smock dress is perfect thing to pack. My go-to online retailer for affordable dresses would be ASOS – they always have a great sale going on!
BRIGHT COLORED ATHLETIC WEAR
When it comes to wearing athletic clothing, I would highly recommend packing bright colored sports clothing! Not only will bright colored fabric absorb less light from the sun, but it will make you stand out when taking photos against rock formations and green scenic landmarks. Because you will be walking for long periods of time, I would recommend investing in athletic wear that is high quality. Athleta has amazing styles and designs that are perfect for outdoor activity!
MINI BACKPACKS
In road trips, I prefer to be hands-free when I do outside sightseeing. To prevent arm and shoulder pain, I would suggest bringing a mini backpack to carry all your essentials to have equal weight on your back. Depending on where you go, it tends to get tiring when you carry a huge tote or purse. So, mini backpacks are the perfect bag to travel with during road trips! So many brands, like Target, are carrying affordable mini backpacks that come in different designs and prints.
AVIATORS
If you take anything away from this blog post, then please…bring some sunglasses! I currently adore aviators with bright colored lenses, and retailers like Express have really pretty frames in assorted colors. When you stand underneath the sun all day, it’s important to protect your eyes with sunglasses that are lightweight and have UV protection. Aviators are a great classic pair of sunglasses that would look great in many different style outfits!

I really like the smock dresses. You could dress them up if you go out to dinner with tights or dress it down with leggings when you just need to go to the store.
