When it comes to cold climates and outdoor activities, I usually get into a frenzy with my wardrobe and the overwhelming emotions about what I should wear. “Is this warm enough?” “Is this too trendy to wear for a hike?” “Would I stick out as a tourist wearing this?” are some of the common questions that I ask myself when I was packing for my birthday trip to Denver. It’s true that living comfortably in the South has made me overlook the necessities of winter clothing and the idea of packing light felt close to impossible. Nonetheless, I always try to stay true to my style, and I ended up really surprising myself with how much I enjoyed packing my outfits for Colorado. For those of you who want some outfit inspirations, keep on reading about how I’ve managed to travel around Denver in style!
CLASSIC LONG COATS
Nothing will pull an outfit together better than having a long coat! No matter what type of clothing I was wearing underneath, I found it important to pack a coat that will match with anything and can be versatile with a variety of looks. Although my coat is not available online, I loved the open coat design and detachable faux fur collar lining! I felt like it really made my style transition perfectly from day to night. I would suggest finding a coat that has warm fabric inner lining and has a classic design that will be suitable for cold weather conditions.
COLORFUL WINTER BOOTS
Now, I only packed one pair of boots for this trip…and I’m glad I ended up bringing my magenta boots from Muk Luks! The unique color shade is as fun as it is practical with it’s plush lining, lug sole, and water resistant design. Not only was I comfortable hiking with these boots, I ended up getting loads of compliments from it. I was surprised with how I was able to wear them with all my outfits in the trip, but it truly elevated every single outfit in such a unique way that makes you stand out! If you’re packing colorful boots, be sure to wear a top and bottom that are neutral in color to balance out the look. Boots shown above are ideal for Denver!
MISMATCHY WINTER ACCESSORIES
Get out of your comfort zone and have fun with pairing your winter accessories! Because your coat, tops, and bottoms would essentially be neutrals, you can make your outfit have a sophisticated touch with any mismatch accessory. A perfect example would be to wear a leopard printed beanie with crimson red gloves. It’s the accessories of the outfit that will elevate your look and make you appear like a stylish Coloradan.
I hope these tips gave you insight to how you can make your outfits comfortable and stylish for the cold climate in Denver! Which of these trends would you try to wear? As always, be sure to follow along my Instagram to see all my outfits during my trip! Until next time- Ressa

Denver sounds like an amazing place for a weekend getaway. Today is National Plan For Vacation Day. Sounds like maybe this would be a great destination to plan some time off for.
