Tada! After performing for the Super Bowl (stay tuned for a blog post recap about it this coming week), I immediately hopped on a flight to another country that I have never been to before: Mexico! What made this trip extra special was that I was going to experience Mexico for the first time with my Nomoon team! I’ve been an ambassador for this travel company for almost a year, and I am ecstatic to finally meet the people I’ve been working for months in person! January has been a whirlwind of events (which included getting my phone stolen), so traveling to Mexico has been a getaway from all the work and hustle back home. For a week, I had an eye-opening experience learning about Mexico’s culture and amazing way of life. Here’s an exclusive view of my trip, along with the details of where I explored:
Playa del Carmen
After my arrival to Playa del Carmen, I was walking around the city at night and instantly felt the energy of the country. The city was very safe, the locals around the area were friendly, and I felt very much at home with the beautiful palm trees, fascinating foods, and sweet sounding music. I was able to walk around the beautiful cafes, vibrant tourist shops, and extraordinary beaches nearby. During my stay, I was able to snorkel with the marine life, meet 20 sea turtles at once, discover an underground cave, and learn about the history of the Mayan civilization. I even got to experience walking around a Mayan village, enjoy delicious home cooked food, zipline, and kayak around the area. What amazed me most about my stay in Playa del Carmen is exploring the ruins and walking up a pyramid. I fully immersed myself with the beauty of the view as I looked down at the massive trees and historic Mayan buildings. It was a view I don’t think I would ever forget, nor want to. My time in Playa del Carmen was brief, but I fondly look back at the memories I’ve spent there.
Tulum
Tulum was a destination in the Nomoon trip itinerary where we were able to relax, have a drink or two, and appreciate the simple things in life. Don’t expect to see the “city life” hustle-and-bustle in this area, because everyone comes here for the #beachlife. The amount of white, sandy beaches in this city is insane! We soaked the sun, beach hopped, and drank margaritas by the beach. When we had extra time to spare, we walked around downtown Tulum where we feasted on more local food and shopped around the marketplaces. With a relaxed itinerary, I was able to have great bonding moments with my team. Our last night in Tulum consisted of us laughing at the many inside jokes we formed from the trip and dancing the night away.
Thank you so much to Nomoon Travel, especially Betty, for making this Mexico retreat happen for me and the team! Experiencing a new country for the first time wouldn’t be the same without having great company. Because this retreat was a curated itinerary, there wasn’t a single activity we did that I did not enjoy. Being a person who enjoys outdoor adventures, seeing underrated spots in cities, and trying incredible authentic food, I was amazed by the activities Mexico offered. If you want to experience this trip for yourself, Nomoon Travel is also offering Mexico travel package deals here. My discount code “ressamazing” gives you 15% off any Nomoon travel package (making this Mexico travel package costing $720 versus spending over $1000 for other travel packages) and 10% off any travel merchandise. Let me know your favorite part of the Mexico retreat in the comments below, and don’t forget to follow along my adventures on Instagram!

This looks like such a beautiful Mexico trip. I’m looking at these photos as there is a snow storm in Chicago, so this looks REAL nice right about now.
