It’s my birthday month, and it’s the first time in years that I’ve been able to celebrate from home! While I’ve gotten used to staying put this past year, I decided to do something special for my new coming of age. I’m a huge fan of flowers and anything rose gold, so I went ahead and finally created the rose gold floral themed birthday photoshoot of my dreams! I think what’s amazing about the birthday shoot was that I was able to decorate and use props that cost below $100. If you know me, you know I love doing anything DIY!
My birthday shoot was inspired by the beautiful floral cafes in London and my desire to one day visit! Because I’ve typically traveled during my birthday, I never really created content that showcases me having balloons, confetti, and a birthday cake. I love all things floral and pink, and figured it was the best time to have a whimsical photoshoot that displays everything I love! My Rose Gold Themed Birthday: Fashion, DIY Party Decor, and Photography

You will be shocked to know that I only spent $14.71 on all the party decor supplies. Yep, you heard that right! This amazing rose gold party package from Amazon was all that I’ve needed to transform my bedroom! It was really simple to do because there were instructions at the back of each separate package, and it only took a a few hours to assemble everything together. It was so easy, I’ve shared more behind the scenes from my Tiktok post. However, I’ve also included other party decor options in my shop widget. The only downside about decorating was that I needed to purchase a helium tank to blow up certain balloons that I wanted floating in my room. However, if you already own one and have a pair of scissors and tape – you are good to go!

Birthday Cake
Okay, I’m not the “typical birthday cake” kinda gal, and I literally tried to find unique birthday cakes all over the web. I stumbled upon this beautiful pastel flower cake from 1-800-Flowers and stared at it in awe! I knew it was the birthday cake I’ve always wanted, and I loved how colorful and ethereal it looked in real life! When you order, keep in mind that your cake will not look exact from the online photo and the colors and types of flowers used will vary based on season and availability. This flower cake from 1-800-Flowers is also a wonderful My cake was an ombre of pink and yellow which best matched the color scheme of my birthday photoshoot! This cake is also a great alternative to the flower cake I’ve ordered for my birthday.

Photography Equipment and Tips
Of course, it wouldn’t be a photoshoot without the proper equipment! I purchased a ring light from Amazon for under $50 which has dramatically changed my room to have even lighting throughout my space. I’ve made sure that my balloons were spread out in my bed so that it can help with framing and depth. I also took photos in a lower angle so that way I can appear a little taller in my photos while I’m sitting (I’m 5′ 2” for reference).
