When I return home from a trip, I immediately resume the life I’d left off. Seeing wonderful sights and feeling so inspired by the people and culture around the world seems to create an invisible boundary line from the confinements of the old lifestyle and city in which I was raised. Although I keep changing as a person after every trip, the normalcy of my life back home seems to create an even thicker boundary from my never-ending travel bucket list. From working, managing my finances, and being there for my family, I never fully understood Houston’s charm in the eyes of a tourist. That thought changed when I was met with the opportunity to have a weekend staycation at Hotel Alessandra. Not only was it a chance to take a break from my everyday schedule, but it was also a recently new hotel that had the service, amenities, and luxury design that make you see the fancy side of Houston like never before.

As I got closer to the hotel, my eyes were drawn towards the sleek glass windows and gray marbled entrance area. I immediately took note of the lavish, minimalistic design of the hotel’s architecture. As I was dropped off the hotel, the valet team was ready to greet me and extended their hand for assistance right when I stepped foot out the car. I appreciated the kind service as they took care of transporting my luggage and personal belongings while walking me towards the lobby.
While most hotels have a front lobby that’s placed in front of the entrance doors, Hotel Alessandra had the most grandiose marbled staircase that led up to the lobby area in the second floor. There’s also a secret elevator in the back of the first floor that can also take you directly to the lobby as well.

Once I was escorted to my hotel room, I was absolutely floored with the decor and sweet surprise- complimentary drinks and a sweet thank you note! For the layout, the bathroom was off to my right, coffee and food machinery was to my left, closet was by the coffee and food, and the queen-size bed was straight ahead with the couch area against the glass windows! The design had a unique contemporary design with its minimalistic walls, carpet, and shelving. However, the checkered tiles in the bathroom, green velvet couches and pillows, and open bath tub gave a je ne sais quoi that reminded me of French country decor.

With my Spotify playing, it was the perfect ambiance to rest and check out the Spa by Alessandra. Afterwards, I was contemplating on what to eat for dinner with my hotel room’s iPad which makes ordering, booking, and contacting guest services a breeze! Plus, since my card is on record with my hotel reservation, any additional purchases, orders, and services I make are automatically transacted with my card. The days when you need to swipe your card for everything are long gone!

Everything you need is within the palm of your hands
I eventually decided to spend a cozy evening looking at the sunset in the rooftop. It was the perfect touch to my first night in Hotel Alessandra. I was in awe being surrounded by Houston’s city skyline and enjoying the views of the color-changing sky. Out of all my years living in Houston, I had never seen downtown the same way I did that night.

For dinner, I had a treat dining at Bardot, Hotel Alessandra’s bar and lounge. The dim lighting and intimate atmosphere made me feel excited to try their lamb sliders, truffle fries, and sparkling champagne. Although they had plenty of seating areas at the bar and couch area, I decided to eat by the windows and check out the night view of Houston. Because I ate dinner in the later hours of the night, I pretty much had the whole restaurant to myself. The quiet scenery was the perfect touch to ending my night.During the day time, Lucienne, Hotel Alessandra’s restaurant, is open for breakfast, brunch, and lunch time. Although I was able to get a quick tour, I wasn’t able to dine due to the short amount of time I had in getting ready in the morning. However, the sleek oval shaped ceiling and Tiffany blue decor makes me wanna come back and dine soon.

Before you leave your stay, take a quick joyride in Hotel Alessandra’s personal Maserati! You can get complimentary rides within a 2 mile radius of the hotel, and the best part is that the Maserati is available anytime before 10 pm. A personal Maserati ride makes Uber and Lyft unnecessary in Houston!

My entire luxury staycation at Hotel Alessandra was incredible. While my stay felt super brief, I was surprised at how much I was able to experience. For anyone interested in booking, I highly recommend booking a reservation during special occasions, holidays (ahem….Valentine’s Day coming up!), and long-term stays in order to truly experience the hotel’s services at your own pace. The stay made me felt so rejuvenated from my normal lifestyle and fonder of my home city. Thank you so much to Hotel Alessandra for allowing me to stay at your beautiful establishment! If you enjoy this post, please be sure to share this on social media and send it to anyone interested in traveling to Houston.
