I can not believe how much time flies every year. Now that I am one year older, I can’t help but notice how much my life has changed within the past 365 days. Traveling around the world was a 2016 New Year’s resolution for myself after I had experienced severe depression and anxiety post-graduation, and although I like to call it an “early-onset mid-quarter life crisis,” I knew I had to make huge changes in my life in order to feel better. My blog was quietly created in order to keep all my personal interests in a virtually tangible place while I explored, and it started to become a hobby that allowed me to share my travel adventures and sense of fashion to everyone who had access to internet. Since then, my newfound hobby gave me opportunities that I had never imagined would happen after the success of a year’s worth of blogging. Although I could go on and on for days about the positive impact this little interest space has given me, I decided to make 2017 the year where I created my official domain name: http:www.ressamazing.com! My blog is not going anywhere, and I am so incredibly happy to make this fashion post the first blog post with my own domain.
With the changes I’ve made from 2016, I was inspired to have a 24th birthday shoot that resembled my blooming growth. Although I have always stretched my fashion palette, I find that romantic, feminine clothing pieces are the heart of my style. After crashing in on a college university for this shoot, I can honestly say that I have never felt more of a flower goddess than my birthday shoot captured by Irene Santos. What I love most about this floral, angelic look was how simple and effortless it was to style! My open shoulder ruffled, pink dress was the main piece to this birthday outfit. It was the way the ruffles in the dress reminded me of flower petals that inspired me to have a floral birthday shoot. I love the flowy, relaxed fit of the dress as the fabric hangs over my shoulders. I especially adore the placement of the ruffled sleeves! Having an open shoulder dress can create an illusion for elongated upper arms, and since the ruffles also wrap around the chest, it also creates a fuller chest area too! I recommend this dress design for women with petite body frames since it really lengthens and gives shape to the upper body section. I found a dress that is almost identical to mine here.
Since I wore a one-piece outfit, I wanted to incorporate bold, statement jewelry pieces. I ended up choosing pink studs that had similar pink colors with layers of stone on it. Although it is a stud, I liked how the size of the earrings were bigger than my ear lobe, which made it look like it was a pair of dangling earrings from a distance. Wearing bold earrings with a dress that has a lot of embellished detail, such as ruffles, at the top body section can make the outfit look stylish without competing against clothing pieces. The earrings created an elegant touch to the outfit, making the overall look be classy. I have recently discovered a pair of pink studs online I also like here.
The most interesting part of the birthday look was the DIY flower crowns I wore! Both Irene and I brought a flower crown for the shoot, and I love how the colors and shape of each crown created a different element to the outfit. The bold, colored flower crown made the outfit so vibrant and cheery while the smaller sized, white flower crown gave an innocent, sweet vibe to the outfit. Although I absolutely love both looks, I must mention that it was incredibly easy to DIY! You can also purchase affordable flower crowns like this one.Lastly, if you decide to wear this outfit out, I suggest wearing nude heels with this outfit. The nude colored heels help veer away attention from the lower body since the main outfit details are from the arms and neckline of this birthday look.
