It’s hard to find a hotel that’s perfect for everyone, but when I got the opportunity to stay for the weekend at CITYCENTRE Houston, I realized that my presumptions were wrong. Hotel Sorella CITYCENTRE has all the charm and pizazz anyone would desire in a stay. Because it’s a world renowned luxury boutique hotel, I initially pictured Hotel Sorella as a tranquil, private space. However, with the CITYCENTRE area surrounding the hotel with it’s free events, live concerts, and shopping stores, the hotel’s vibe is lively with many of the hotel guests consisting of families, elderly, and small children as well.Although I was born and raised in Houston, I never got to experience the CITYCENTRE area since it’s located near Katy. With Houston consisting of 12 districts, it’s impossible for one person to experience the entire city in a day, so experiencing a different area of Houston felt like I was traveling to a new city. Despite enjoying the same Texas culture, I find that the hotel gave such a luxurious element to my perspective in Houston. Ultimately, I was please that my weekend staycation was such a treat for me to explore my home city in a different way.
When I was dropped off at the hotel, I was impressed with the architecture of Hotel Sorella CITYCENTRE. It was everything I envisioned a luxury hotel would be; a beige colored high rise building with big, sleek glass windows and a gray tiled wall with the logo “Hotel Sorella CITYCENTRE” at the front. It immediately gave me such a sophisticated aura of the place. As I took the elevators up the lobby, I saw a beautiful black chandelier hanging above me with a red velvet couch against the wall. My impression of the hotel went from being luxuriously modest into being more chic and contemporary. When entering the lobby, I noticed a true pizzazz in decor of the hotel. The European-style printed walls and counter spaces truly embody elegance. The beautiful exterior and interior design of the hotel made me relish into the glamorous setting of Hotel Sorella CITYCENTRE.
When I entered inside my room, I was pretty impressed with the subtle touches to the room. There was dark wooden flooring and a velvet couch living area against the corner of the wall. My room was located right in the middle of the entire CITYCENTRE area as I opened up the sliding windows! The bed had solid white bed sheets with a Hotel Sorella logo across the middle of the duvet. Everything about my room felt sleek and cozy.
After checking out my hotel room, I went ahead and enjoyed the pool. The poolside is quite luxurious as it’s located on the rooftop of the hotel, nearby the bar area. The charming pool has icy blue waters and a leveled seating area with orange beach chairs that are picturesque. I enjoyed chilling by the pool while reading some of my favorite fashion magazines. Listening to the live music in the distance while I was reading was perfect. The poolside is undoubtedly charming and would be perfect for summer vacations with loved ones.
The hotel life wouldn’t be complete without having a taste of the kitchen! I ended my stay with having a delicious breakfast feast at the lobby area. My breakfast included Eggs Benedict, sliced potatoes, fresh fruit, a tropical smoothie, and breakfast tacos (not pictured). I was in food heaven with all the natural fruits and vegetables used for my meal. The service was amazing and I loved dining in the spacious lobby area. My favorite spot is viewing dining and viewing the CITYCENTRE at the open balcony area!
It was such a lovely staycation at Hotel Sorella CITYCENTRE, that I didn’t want to leave! Special thanks to the PR team for giving me the opportunity to enjoy such a luxury hotel. We have stayed here many times- it is probably our favorite Houston hotel. My fave time to stay here is in the summer, when they have the July 4th fireworks. It gets extremely crowded down below, but we make sure to get a view facing the plaza. With the large, ceiling to floor windows in the room, we can watch the fireworks from the comfort of the room.
